Liturgy programs, Ferdinand, 1990, 1996, 1997, 2012

The Monastery used this for the first time as a supplemental source of hymns for Mass in 1978-1979.

This rite was probably used at the time the marble altar was consecrated during Mother Clarissa Riehl's administration in 1956.

Originally at the monastery, the passion was sung by the celebrant, deacon, and subdeacon at Mass during Holy Week.

The subtitle reads: "Seu Ritus Servandus In Expositione Et Benedictione Sanctissimi Sacramenti."

This COLLECTIO RITUUM was published "Pro Dioecesibus Statuum Foederatorum Americae Septentrionalis."

Some of these programs are personal; two are general.

In the years 1975 and 1976, the golden jubilee celebration and diamond jubilee celebration were combined. In 1980, the golden, diamond and seventieth celebrations were combined. The programs for these events are filed in this folder. To Our Golden Jubilarians "Because of You" poem from 1922 also in file (moved from deleted file 1444.

These celebrations were based on years of religious profession.

This Latin hymnal was used at the monastery organ.

The earliest monastery seal appears on the first page (unnumbered) of this book which came from the monastery sacristy.

Remembrance of baptismal symbols in the introductory rites and invocations at the final commendation are included in these rites.

These prayer services, held at Midday Prayer, took place on the colonnade with workers present. Includes photographs from the 2001 prayer service.

These are copies of the Missioning Liturgy which is held each year following the July Community Meetings and Familien Fest. Each sister receives her assignment for the next year.

Father Vincent Wagner of St. Meinrad was a brother of Sr. Ignatia Wagner of Ferdinand.

Prepared by the monks at St. Meinrad, this booklet had its first printing on the Feast of Sts. Maur and Placid on February 2, 1976.

The oldest monastery seal appears in this book which was used in the monastery sacristy.

One processionals carries the monastery's oldest seal.

Of interest might be "General Rules Concerning Blessings," 1946, on page 3 of this book.

Sister Theresita Schenk's laundry number 329 is in this book. Sister Theresita was a masterful organist and musician.

The names of the living members of the community are divided by 30 and listed on the calendar alphabetically. The sisters listed on a given day of the month are remembered in prayer by the rest of the community.

The presentations were on the Liturgy of the Hours, Liturgy of the Eucharist, World Harvest Day, and Inclusive Language. These cassettes include AC0357, AC0358, AC0359.

This was "Et Nova Editione Missalis Romani Excerptae Accedit Ritus Absolutionis Pro Defunctis."

Used by the monastery, this PONTIFICALE carries all the usual prayers, and blessings.

This LITURGICAL PRAYERS AND SERVICES was used for monastery devotions, blessings, and other services.

This altar missal was used in the Sorrowful Mother Chapel for several years.

These supplements were published during the transition from Latin to the vernacular.

This is not a complete set of Holy Week-Easter Liturgy Programs. A copy of "Lamentations of Jeremiah the Prophet" is included in this file.

These programs were designed by members of the liturg staff and printed in-house.

In this publication are the revised rites of holy week: Passion Sunday, Chrism Mass, and the Easter triduum.

This book was compiled principally for the laity in 1941.

Families of sisters who died within the past year are invited back to the monastery for Evening Prayer and dinner. The purpose is to renew acquaintances and to build lasting relationships, in addition to paying respect for the deceased sisters.

In an effort to sort all kinds of Holy Week programs these "Holy Week" programs were placed in this separate archive folder. This includes Easter Sunday and the Easter Season.

Schedules for many years are missing. These should be added, in chronological order, when found.

The lectionary resulted from THE CONSTITUTION ON SACRED LITURGY (Vatican II) directives.

In 2008, Benedict XVI determined that the Jerusalem Bible texts for liturgy should be discontinued because name of God is spelled out; the translation is not restricted for personal prayer and reflection.

These books were used by chaplains. One has a St. Meinrad library stamp; one has the Convent Immaculate Conception stamp.

Father Vincent Wagner, O.S.B., initiated chant singing at the monastery in Ferdinand in the early 1900's.

THE SACRAMENTARY was retired and sent to the archives November 26, 2011, First Sunday of Advent. At the time the revised sacramentary with the English translation revisions became effective.
