              The Fine Arts Building, later called Art Studio, was dedicated on May 5, 1968. A federal grant of $90,805 was received to help with the construction of the arts facility, at one time a cow barn. See also YMCA.

              THE HERMITAGE

              The Hermitage, a small get-away place for a sister, built in honor of Sister Mary Aquin and Mary Ann Verkamp and in memory of Catherine Verkamp, was funded by a gift of $50,000 from Gilbert Verkamp. The Hermitage is located southeast of the monastery.

              Boiler House Chimney (Smoke Stack)

              The cost of yearly maintaining the chimney, (100"X 4' RRB) became too high to keep yearly. The boiler chimney was torn down in 2016 because the structure was no longer used and because maintenance costs seemed unnecessary.

              Sister Salesia Godecker, O.S.B., was instrumental in compiling information for booklets. The stained-glass windows were installed in March and April 1932. They were manufactured by Emil Frei, Sr.(Frei Art Glass Studios of Munich-St. Louis).

              These blueprints were presented to the monastery by the Albert Krampe family in 2006 after the death of Bernard Krampe who fell heir to them after his father's death. They were originally among Albert A. Krampe's office files.

              Most buildings at Monastery Immaculate Conception had to be checked for asbestos before any changes could be made; even the asbestos had to be removed in Madonna Hall, before the building was demolished. This file also contains estimates for asbestos analysis for St. Benedict Hall in 1992, Benet Hall in 2016, and Boiler room in 2016.
