Archival history
Happy Birthday to the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana celebrating their sesquicentennial of their founding in 1867. To mark the occasion, this special ornament was created depicting the "Castle on the Hill",featuring the Romanesque Revival style convent chapel designed by German born St. Louis architect Victor Klutho and built between 1914 and 1924- and restored to its former glory in 2005. Today the sisters continue to serve in a myriad of ways. The Benedictine sisters continue to enrich and influence the culture and spirit of Ferdinand and beyond.
