The Ferdinand railroad was the shortest railroad in the United States privately owned (7-mile track). The Ferdinand Railroad Company was established in 1909. The Sisters of St. Benedict bought a $100 bond in 1908 as an investment in the railroad. This file contains newspaper clippings carrying the history of the "Ferdy 'Flyer."
