Queen of Peace Monastery was founded Sept. 14, 1956, and became independent April 29, 1963. Mother Martin Buckman was founding prioress. Queen of Peace Monastery closed in March 2004. This monastery was Ferdinand's second daughterhouse.

Sister Joella Kidwell was the first prioress to appoint a motherhouse coordinator in 1998, Sister Dolores Ann Kiesler. Following her were Sister Christine Kempf, Sister Betty Drewes, Sister Rose Wildeman, Sister Marilyn Schroering. During Sister Barbara Lynn's term as prioress, the title was changed to Monastery Coordinator.

Sister Joella Kidwell, prioress, initiated these meetings in late summer, 1998, and conducted the meetings. Faith leaders became deans in 1999.

Father Eric Lies, O.S.B., St. Meinrad monk and artist, produced the mission statment in original calligraphy.

By 2014 the mission coordinator was called a deanery dean. She was elected by the mission group and, generally, accepted the responsibility of overseeing the deanery.

Holy Spirit Monastery, Grand Terrace, CA, became a dependent priory May, 1968, and an independent monastery in April, 1972. The Grand Terrace sisters returned to Ferdinand in 2012. See "Finding Aids." ROADRUNNER was the name of the Holy Spirit Monastery news periodical.
