This Ordo was compiled from the American Cassinese and the Swiss-American Congregations, O.S.B. and adapted for the Benedictine Sisters of the Congregation of St. Gertrude the Great.

Sister Kathryn Huber was elected Federation president during the 1999 General Chapter. She followed Sister Ruth Fox of Richardton.

This study guide was prepared by the Interfederation/Congregation Committee on Monastic Profession as a resource book for the use of all monasteries of Benedictine women in the North American Federations and the Congregations.

The Monastery Immaculate Conception became an official member of the Congregation of St. Gertrude the Great on October 16, 1939.

LISTEN III was revised in 2005-2006. Sister Donna Marie Herr, O.S.B., chaired the task force.

All houses of the Federation of St. Gertrude were asked to submit reports or discussions held to begin the revision of the declarations and constitutions into what became the Listen I, II, III documents.

The T-4 program, Timeless Tradition-Technological Times, was a joint project between the American Conference of Benedictine Prioresses, the Federations of St. Gertrude, St. Benedict, and St. Scholastica, the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and the Missionary Benedictines. The purpose was to provide access to Benedictine scholars for all newer members of Benedictine monasteries, as well as providing discussion platforms through technology.

General Chapters have met at different intervals since 1938. Delegates to the chapters have always included the prioress from each monastery. Methods for choosing delegates have changed throughout the years.

Mother Clarissa Riehl, O.S.B., was a member of Monastery Immaculate Conception, Ferdinand, Indiana.

Mother Augustine Uhlenkott, O.S.B., was a member of Monastery of St. Gertrude, Cottonwood, Idaho.

Sister Julia Hunhoff, O.S.B., is a member of Sacred Heart Monastery, Yankton, South Dakota.

Sister Kathryn Huber from Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand was elected Federation president.

Sister Mary Victor's materials were used in the federation book WOMEN COLLABORATING.

These correspondences, for the most part, were from Father Ignatius to Mother Seraphine Kordes or to all the prioresses of the congregation.

The HEARKEN, NEWS NOTES, and NEWSLETTER were published during the years of Mother Jane Frances Brockman's and Sister Julia Hunhoff's federation presidencies.

Sister Mary Anselm Hammerling, O.S.B., was president of the Federation when Listen I and Listen II were approved by Rome.
