These original oil paintings, attributed to Sister Gregory Ems, were restored through a gift from Arnold F. and Barbara Habig.

These newspaper stories were written by Sister Mary Kenneth Scheessele who obtained IHRG # 91-3032 to do research on the monastery's art works.

Sister Gregory Ems (1869-1954) was the "monastery's artist" for over 50 years - 1900 - 1954. Other photos in this file are of paintings done by other members of the community: Claudia Backert, Aloysius Gutgsell, Amanda Walbaum, Francesca Brogan, Mary Alice Schnur, Bertilla Burger, Aquina Boerste. File also contains an article from the Saturday Herald, with photo taken by Sr. Sharon Hollander, of Gregory Ems's painting of Madonna and Child. The paintings are in storage or in the monastery.

Joseph Schoenbachler (Swampy) carved this statue for the Ferdinand sisters from a monastery cedar-tree log which was blown down during a snowstorm in March 1996. Joe delivered the statue April 4, 2007.

Berta Hummel was the creator of the Hummel sketches from which authentic Hummels were and are made by the W. Goebel Company in Germany.
