Note
Roman Weinzoepfel, born at Ungersheim in Alsace, came to Indiana when hatred for Catholics was rampant in Indiana. The INDIANA MAGAZINE OF HISTORY was presented to the archives in 2003 by Donald Weinzapfel, relative of Father Roman. Sr. Agnes Weinzapfel, OSB is also a distant relative of Fr. Roman and has given documents to the archives.
