Note
The purpose of this study was to discover the reason for the immigration of Catholics to the United States, in particular Catholics from the German-speaking regions of Europe before the American Civil War. This study focuses on the Dubois-Spencer County region of southern Indiana, with the main focal point on Rev. Joseph Kundek and his motives for inducing German Catholic settlement of this region.
